“Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success.” ~ Henry Ford
This last half of 2013, I have been challenged to evaluate every area of my life…
being a woman – I want to run more and eat less in 2014. I want to feel as beautiful as my husband tells me I am.
being Freddy’s wife – we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in June and as we get closer and closer to being empty nesters, I am finding that my role is adjusting ever so slightly and at the end of the day, when all the kids are gone, it’s going to be me and this man that I fell in love with when I was 17. I want to work harder than ever to show him how much I value him.
being a mom – knowing that my oldest is on his last leg/months of ‘childhood’ and hoping/praying/trusting God that I’ve loved him enough, invested enough in his life to equip him so he can be the blessing to the world that he’s been to me.
being a friend – feeling stretched by the spirit of God to love others more thoroughly, to be more aware, alert, attentive to others who may be hurting or just need someone to say hello.
being a business owner – too many emails/calls/messages fell through the cracks this year. It’s been one of the most chaotic years of my life but that is no excuse. And I have been praying and bouncing ideas off of my husband, best friend, & my closest photographer friends for months as I’ve brainstormed the best way to serve you as my clients. We have a saying at our house, “Love God, Serve All” I really work hard to let this spill out into my work life too. I want you to walk away from a session with me and feel like you were served to the fullest. But honestly, I know I haven’t been the most efficient this year. And even though it would have been ideal to be more efficient, I’m at peace overall because my family had to come first for many reasons.
HOWEVER….2014 is a new year, new day, new opportunity! And I want to be better at all things. And after all the months of brainstorming and evaluating, there will be some changes that will help things to run more efficiently and allow me to pay more attention to the details. Make sure you use the contact form on this site to be added to our Newsletter to get the latest info and first dibs on things like Mini Sessions.
Happy New Year!!! May you find challenges around every corner to be more of who you were created to be, and may you enjoy the personal growth of those challenges and look forward to each new one. I would LOVE for you to comment and tell me what your goals are this year. I want to get to know you better in 2014!
Happy New Year,
