This year’s FALL MINI SESSIONS were good for my soul! If I can be really raw for minute, I’d like to share some of my more private thoughts…with us recently moving to Beaumont, TX about 60 miles east of where we were in Kingwood, I had decided to book a lighter load for this fall. Fall is hands down the busiest time for family photographers because of the demand for Holiday photos. Because I was shooting less, I was starting to question if I was still supposed to be doing this for a living. Granted, I am fully aware that big decisions should not be made within 6 months of a drastic change in life such as a death of a loved one, having a baby, a kid moving out, a move…. Well, we moved and we left our oldest in Houston. My emotions have been ALL OVER THE PLACE… I was feeling really discouraged when I woke up the day that I was going to have these mini sessions and had a solid hour long conversation with God on my way to this park – I talked to God the whole time…and left God no room to whisper back to me. However, I left that evening feeling more encouraged about my work and the relationships that I am oh-so-blessed to build with clients who become friends. The whole way home, I let God do the talking and I just listened as creativity and peace swirled all throughout my heart and my soul. Here are a few shots from each of my mini sessions from that day. What an honor to photograph such amazing families!
