A precious photographer friend encouraged myself and several other photog friends to capture our own children more. So tonight after church, I was way too tired and almost put it off til I could get better light or cleaner space… however, My mom was always really good about letting our bedrooms be our own space. I am pretty lenient on how messy their rooms are because they do have to share so much with each other. So here is my middle girl in her messy messy room 😉 If I had cleaned it for the pic, it wouldn’t be real life.
We took Ilana to the Physical Medicine doctor yesterday for what we hoped would be her final check up…her ‘you are free to do whatever you want’ appt. She is doing exceptionally well with her headaches even though she had a doozy of one back a couple weeks ago that landed her in the ER. She’s not had one since! Thank God! And she is at 80% prescription level with her hearing aid, but will get bumped to 90% in November and 100% in January. She is adjusting to that so well and is excited to wear it. I was blessed to host a photography workshop back in April for the very talented Audrey Woulard out of Chicago. All who attended the workshop were women, and almost all of them were from the Houston area. Well, we just clicked – no pun intended… Seriously, it was one of the best things that happened to me as far as my business goes. This workshop was about a month after our daughter’s accident and I was really evaluating why I work, why I chose photography and there were some things I wanted to change. Being in Ministry, we haven’t lived near family since we got married except for a brief time right about the time our son was born 17+ years ago when we lived in Virginia Beach and my Dad and Stepmom (best stepmom ever btw) lived in Hampton, Va which was practically next door even though you had to drive across a bridge that had a tunnel under the ocean to get there. It was awesome having family close by. Then we moved to Alabama. And about a year after we’d been there, my sister moved there.
